About Dr. Zoe Zeng

Health in Harmony and balance

Hello, my name is Dr. Zoe Zeng and I was born in China.

I practice Chinese Medicine and acupuncture in Pretoria. Every person is different, so I treat each patient as an individual and focus on restoring and maintaining their good health with a balanced treatment.

I began learning to heal from a very young age from my Mother. I remember when we were sick, my Mother would pick fresh herbs from our garden and mash the leaves into a paste or boil them to make a herbal tea to make us better.

I think, the most beautiful smells in the world are the many wonderful scents of fresh herbs.  Even today, the fresh sweet smell of herbs bring back many wonderful memories of my childhood.

I have a lot of people to thank for making my path possible. I thank all the healers who have gone before and generously shared their wisdom and knowledge through the ages and I thank each and every patient and all the many people, friends and family who have helped and supported me on my journey to be a good healer. I thank my teachers for showing me that knowledge and compassion are equally important.

I wish more people would realize that, Chinese medicine and Acupuncture are important not only to restore good health but also play an important role in maintaining good health and preventing illness.

Thank you.

I look forward to meeting you for a consultation and  acupuncture in Pretoria.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine have very Ancient Roots

Chinese medicine and acupuncture provide effective and natural healing methods to achieve and maintain harmony between the Universe and the human body and mind. Preventative medicine and the treatment of existing ailments is a successful holistic healing model.

Chinese Medicine is based on natural ingredients and techniques that have been tested over many centuries and are still relevant and in daily use today, not only in Modern China, but across the world.  More people are realizing that natural herbs are better medicines for the human body than mass produced artificial supplements and chemicals.

Acupuncture is very effective in treating both the physical and the emotional body.

The true beauty of Acupuncture is that it can unite mind and body to reconnect us with nature, and we can live happier more intuitive lives when we are aligned with natural energies.

Shen Nung, the Father of Chinese medicine said, “The nature of Dao belongs also to Man; the mind of Man is a spring of power. When the Dao is established, the Course of Man is thereby determined.“

The human body constantly interacts with nature and the variations are as unique as the individual. Every person is different, so each treatment is considered with that in mind.

Chinese Medicine is based on natural ingredients and techniques that have been tested over many thousands of years by real people and are still relevant and in daily use in Modern China. More and more people across the world are realizing that natural herbs are better medicines for the human body than artificial supplements and chemicals.

I learnt about natural medicine from a very young age from my Mother. I remember when we were sick, my Mother would pick fresh herbs from our garden and mash the leaves into a paste or boil them to make a herbal tea to make us better. We would also pick herbs and take them to the local medicine station in exchange for a little pocket money.  Even today, the fresh sweet smell of herbs bring back many memories of my childhood.

I think, in this world, the most beautiful smells are the wonderful scents of fresh herbs.

Acupuncture is very effective in treating the physical and the emotional body. I carry acupuncture needles everywhere I go. After decades of practice, the needles perform and feel part of my fingers. Through my fingers and where the needles touch, I can feel every part of the patient’s body, every acupuncture point starts to talk to me; pours out their pain, their sadness, their worries, their fear, inner childhood scars…. Every patient is important and unique. From every needle inserted, all these stuck negative energies flow out… That is the beauty of acupuncture…. In this modern world, new technology appears to have made life easier but our body, our mind and nature have drifted apart. We need balance. Acupuncture can unite mind and body to reconnect us with nature, and we can be more intuitive.

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are effective healing methods that have stood the test of time and are well worth trying.

Traditional Chinese medicine explains that health is the result of a harmonious balance of the complementary extremes of “yin” and “yang” of the life force known as “qi,” pronounced “chi.” Illness is said to be the consequence of an imbalance of the forces.

Qi is said to flow through meridians, or pathways, in the human body. These meridiens and energy flows are accessible through 365 acupuncture points in the body.

They list additional disorders that may benefit from acupuncture, but which require further scientific confirmation.

In 2003, the World Health Organization (WHO) listed a number of conditions in which they say acupuncture has been proven effective.

These include:
